Current Data Collection Period
This will commence on 1 April 2025 for both NOD Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and Cataract audits. Please see key dates for more information.
- For sites using Medisoft/mediSIGHT EMR, data extraction is usually scheduled between June and July, and you will be contacted directly by Medisoft to make arrangements for extraction and submission to the NOD.
- For sites using OpenEyes EMR, please liaise with your IT department and relevant personnel to arrange for the data to be transferred directly to the NOD statistical team or uploaded via the NOD website by the closing date of 4 July 2025.
- For sites using Epic, bespoke EMR and non-EMR systems, please upload your data via the NOD website by the closing date of 16 June 2025.
Uploading your files for centres in category 2 and 3 above
- Enter the contributing centre's name and/or a description of the upload, then add your zipped data. Upload should start immediately, when complete click Save to submit the data.
- Patients' NHS numbers should be de-identified and given an unique code that relates to the patient but cannot be traced back to the NHS Number. Any patient with data for both eyes should have an identical identifier in the submission file.
- Submission of any Patient Identifiable Data will result in an alert to the relevant Caldicott Guardian/Medical Director and the RCOphth Trustee Board and potentially the Information Commissioners Office.
