Overview of the key dates for the NOD audits.

2026 Audit Cycle

AUDIT FEE DEADLINES

NOD Cataract and AMD Audits:

  • February 2026: The NOD Team will send a quotation to the Finance Teams of participating centres.
  • 31 March 2026: Each participating centre must submit an official Purchase Order (PO) to noa.project@rcophth.ac.uk.
  • April/May 2026: Upon receipt of the official PO, the NOD Team will issue an invoice to the participating centre.

DATA COLLECTION PERIOD

  • NOD Cataract Audit: the data collection period covers surgery performed between 1 April 2025 and 31 March 2026, with follow-up data included up to the date of extraction.
  • NOD AMD Audit: the data collection period covers eyes starting treatment between 01 April 2024 and 31 March 2025 with follow up data up to the date of extraction due to continuous assessment and treatment

DATA SUBMISSION DEADLINE 

NOD Cataract and AMD Audits:

  • 31 July 2026: centres using Medisoft/mediSIGHT:
    Data submission will take place during summer 2026. Data will be securely extracted by Medisoft by 31 July 2026 and transferred to the NOD Statistical Team for analysis. No local action is required. Medisoft will not contact centres directly to confirm either readiness for extraction or completion of the extraction.
  • 3 July 2026: centres using OpenEyes*
  • 12 June 2026: centres using EPIC* or a non-EMR system* 

*Centres using OpenEyes, EPIC, or non-EMR systems must submit their data in a password-protected Excel file via www.nodaudit.org.uk. The password must be sent separately to the NOD Senior Medical Statistician via ghn-tr.nod@nhs.net 

*Please note that all Patient Identifiable Data (PID) must be de-identified before submission, unless your centre has signed a Data Sharing Agreement supported by approval under Section 251 of the Health Service (Control of Patient Information) Regulations 2002, granted by the Health Research Authority’s Confidentiality Advisory Group (CAG).
